Get To Know Keegan-Michael Key's Fiance, Elisa Pugliese
At the age of 46, Keegan-Michael Key has found love again. Going through a divorce is never easy so when Keegan-Michael Key divorced Cynthia Blaise, his wife of 15 years, in 2015, fans didn't necessarily expect him to bounce back so quickly. But Key has found love again and recently announced his engagement to Elisa Pugliese. On November 14, 2017, less than two years after Key's divorce was finalized, he and Elisa Pugliese shared a picture and post about their engagement on Twitter. The couple has been fairly private while dating but a few Instagram posts give us some insight into the happy couple and the woman who has stolen Keegan-Michael Key's heart.
Fact #1: Elisa Pugliese Is An Actress and Producer
The mega-popular Comedy Central series, Key & Peele, helped turned Keegan-Michael Key into a household name and bolster his net worth. His career continues to move along swiftly with roles in big movies like Keanu and TV shows like Friends From College. While she may not be as well-known as her fiance, Elisa Pugliese is quite the creative talent in her own right and has actually proven to be a triple threat. She is an actress, producer, and director, very involved in the arts and has been involved in several significant productions. One of the most intriguing projects she's been a part of is as a producer on This American Journey, a documentary film that came out in 2013. This American Journey follows an Australian actor named Paul Blackthorne (fans may recognize him as Quentin Lance from Arrow) and an Australian photographer named Mister Basquali, both of whom grew infatuated with America at a young age and decided to move to the States to live out their dreams. Given the political climate since, they decided to travel across America to find out if it was still the same country they fell in love with. That trip is chronicled in This American Journey which was produced by Elisa Pugliese, who also served as a producer on the 2008 documentary, An American Teen.
Elisa Pugliese also worked as a producer on the film Boy Meets Girl, which is an independent film about a transgender woman trying to find love in small-town Kentucky. Boy Meets Girl earned praise for casting a transgender actress in the lead role. Too often in movies and TV shows about trans characters, cisgendered actors are given the roles so casting Michelle Hendley as the movie's lead in Boy Meets Girl was seen as an important step.
Fact #2: She is Directing Keegan-Michael Key's Next Film

From producing films like This American Journey, directing The 75th Annual Peabody Awards in 2016, and taking small roles in movies like The Cake Eaters and School of Rock, Elisa Pugliese has a pretty exciting resume already. However, her biggest opportunity to date teams her up with her fiance, Keegan-Michael Key, and puts her behind the camera for her feature film debut. The movie is called Madero and is expected to be released sometime in 2018. Along with Elisa Pugliese's future husband, Keegan-Michael Key, Madero boasts a pretty impressive cast that includes Olivia Munn and John Leguizamo. Not too shabby. Not a whole lot is known about the movie other than the IMDB description that reads, "A Puerto Rican undercover cop with the DEA in New York City is forced to protect his family when confronted by demons from his past."
Fact #3: The Private Couple Have Traveled A Lot Together
Keegan-Michael Key kept their relationship pretty low-key after his divorce, but in recent months leading up to their engagement, they've been seen in public a bit more. Pugliese and her future husband have attended the IRC Rescue Dinner in New York City, the BAFTA Tea Party event, and the 2017 Tony Awards. They were also spotted together during Emmy weekend in Los Angeles. Both Elisa Pugliese and her fiance are pretty vocal sports fans and were pretty excited to share pictures together on Instagram while attending the 2017 U.S. Open.
Fact #4: Elisa Pugliese is a Football Fan
She may be an actor, producer, and director and her fiance may be Keegan-Michael Key but Elisa Pugliese likes to unwind like a lot of us do: with some football. She tweets often about the NFL and on October 22, 2017, she sent out a tweet saying that she was at a New York Giants game for some #footballtherapy. The following month, she shared a picture of her and Keegan-Michael Key at a Detroit Lions game, celebrating their win and wearing Golden Tate jerseys.
Fact #5: Elisa Pugliese is Politically Outspoken
It's a politically volatile time and Elisa Pugliese often uses her platform to get involved with issues that matter to her. Given how her fiance, Keegan-Michael Key, has often used comedy to make some sort of social commentary, it's not a surprise to find out that Pugliese is equally invested in political causes. She often tweets out her support for victims of sexual harassment and abuse, speaks up about important elections, and has even attended events intending to show solidarity with immigrants.
Keegan-Michael Key and Elisa Pugliese Headed Down The Aisle
There's a lot we don't know about Keegan-Michael Key and Elisa Pugliese but it's clear that the two of them are very happy together. There was a fairly significant age difference in Key's first marriage but with Pugliese's birth date believed to be April 2, 1971, she and Key are almost exactly the same age. Keegan-Michael Key has a net worth of $7 million and Pugliese's net worth isn't known, but the two clearly have a passion for their work and a love for one another. No wedding date has been announced yet but Key and Pugliese quickly received a lot of congratulation messages from famous friends on Instagram and other social media. In fact, Olivia Munn made sure to call dibs on walking down the aisle to give Key away. So, Pugliese and her future husband have already got their first RSVP!
