Chris Robinson is best known as the singer of the American rock and roll band, 'The Black Crowes'. Lets get indepth into his early life, childhood and personal life. Born in 1966, Christopher 'Chris' Robinson is the brother of the guitarist Rich Robinson and also a musician on his own. Robinson's father, Stanley 'Stan' Robinson also aspired to be a musician but could only manage a minor Billboard charted record in 1959 called 'Boom-A-Dip-Dip'. He died a few years back in 2013 survived by his wife, Nancy Jane and two sons, Chris and Rich Robinson. The brothers began their musical journey in the 80's with their band Mr. Crowe's Garden. The famous rock bands like The Faces and The Rolling Stone had a deep impact on them growing up. Robinson completed his graduation from the Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina. On September 8, 1996, he married his first wife, actress Lala Sloatman, niece of musician Frank Zappa. Their marriage did not last long and they were divorced in 1998. In December 2000, Robinson married for the second time to actress Kate Hudson. Their son, Ryder Russell Robinson, was born in 2004. But after 6 years of marital bliss, the couple decided to call it quits. They divorced in October 2007, citing irreconcilable differences. Robinson sought joint custody of son Ryder. Robinson moved on in life and married for the third time to Allison Bridges in 2009. Their daughter, Cheyenne Genevieve Robinson, was born on December 26, 2009.

Career of the singer

In 1989, the brothers changed the name of their band to The Black Crowes. They then collaborated with the label Def American and released their debut album, Shake Your Money Maker. Their album was a success and they went on a tour to promote it. Their journey over the course of the next six years was a bit topsy turvy yet they managed to release 6 studio albums including Amorica, Live, Warpaint and many others. Amorica was released in 1994, Live came up in 2004 and Warpaint in 2008. They had a bit of personal issues with the band members and by 2002, they announced about taking a break. Chris Robinson then began his solo career with New Earth Mud. His first solo recording, 'The Red Road' was also the soundtrack for the movie, 'Goldie Hawn' starring Kate Hudson. New Earth Mud had a positive reception and its genre of music was very jam-oriented and lengthy sets which quickly got famous. New Earth Mud came up with some very hummable songs including the 'Sunday Sound' in 2002. New Earth Mud next came up with the album This Magnificent Distance in 2004 which was a bigger commercial success than the previous one. The summer of 2004 saw New Earth Mud with new members touring for the support of This Magnificent Distance. Robinson later appeared briefly only with Phil Lesh and friends after the summer tour. Robinson was away from the public eye for a whole year until the February of 2005 when he made a performance with his brother Rich in Las Vegas. Later that month, he again appeared with Phil Lesh and friends for some other concerts. But eventually things got sorted between The Black Crowes former members and in early 2005, they reunited. They ended up in a full-fledged tour and later released their live album Brothers of a Feather: Live at the Roxy. By April 2010, they released many other successful albums including Croweology and others. By 2011, it was officially announced that Chris Robinson Brotherhood (CRB) would be Chris' new project. Chris Robinson Brotherhood members were Adam Macdougall from The Black Crowes, Mark Dutton from Burning Tree and some other new members. CRB's first album was Big Moon Ritual released in 2012 and next came The Magic Door.

Life as Kate Hudson's spouse

Kate Hudson and Chris Robinson divorced more than 10 years ago. They were very happy with each other. In an interview Hudson spilled the beans on her marriage, divorce and then custody of son Ryder. She revealed how she was very happy with him and how he used to drive her crazy. They had met on the sets on How to Lose a Guy. They got divorced when their son was three. Even after their split, they have maintained cordial relationships with each other. She also revealed how she always feels guilty about being a working mom as her top priority is her son Ryder. Recently Chris Robinson filed a re-evaluation order for the joint custody case for son Ryder. He feels that they need to develop a parenting plan that addresses legal custody and physical custody, including where the teen will live and visitation orders. Let's see what the court has to say. Their divorce was otherwise quite uneventful with both of them just wishing the best for their son.
