Who is Harry Potter and Star Wars Actor Domhnall Gleeson?

Before he entered an alternate reality in Star Wars, or the magical realm of Harry Potter, Domhnall Gleeson (age: 34, height: 6’ 1”) was working hard to become one of Hollywood’s most talked about actors. He was born in Dublin, Ireland in 1983 to Mary and Brendan Gleeson. Brendan Gleeson (age: 62, height: 6’ 2”) is a famous actor himself, beloved by many as Mad-Eye Moody in the Harry Potter series of films. One might say that Domhnall followed in his father’s footsteps. Gleeson studied at the Dublin Institute of Technology and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Media Arts. The Star Wars actor was originally interested in directing and producing, and only later did he discover his talent and love for acting. Gleeson would go on to act in local theater plays, larger productions, and eventually move on to feature films. In 2004, Gleeson starred alongside his father in Martin McDonagh’s Six Shooter, which went on to win an Oscar for Best Live-Action Short. This led the way to his bright future and played a large role in getting him cast in the very popular Harry Potter films.

The Harry Potter series, adapted from J.K. Rowling’s series of novels, began in 2001 with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. Domhnall Gleeson didn’t join the series until the second to last installment: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part One (2010). He was cast as Bill Weasley, older brother of Ronald Weasley. Gleeson remains in through the end of the series and aids Harry Potter in his quest to defeat Lord Voldemort.

Domhnall’s father, Brendan Gleeson, also appears in the Harry Potter series, although the pair has no scenes together. Brendan plays Mad-Eye Moody, a grumpy and gruff Dark Wizard hunter who first appears in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

Star Wars: General Hux

He is known to be a very strict leader and strives to instill a sense of obedience in his subordinates. Gleeson’s role as General Hux will continue in the next Star Wars installment: Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Star Wars: The Last Jedi is set to come out on Friday, December 15th of this year.
