She happens to be the richest African-American woman and also the fist multi-billionaire black person of North America. Several assessments have ranked her as the most successful, most influential and also the greatest black philanthropist in American history. President Barack Obama awarded her the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2013. Although born in a poverty stricken family in a rural part of Mississippi to a single teenage unwed mother, she always was determined to rise up in life.
