Charlotte Kalla Trains Hard But Loves It

Charlotte Kalla is known for her muscles, which she has been working hard to build and maintain through diet and exercise since 2008 when she switched to the controversial Bjoergen-Method. The method was popularized by Marit Bjoergen after she won gold at the 2003 World Cup. The training method involves short, high-intensity training bursts, sometimes involving heavy weights, with the goal of training maximum oxygen intake by using maximum output exercises. While some skiers have not had success with this training method, Kalla has excelled with it, building strong muscles and achieving peak performance as a skier.

Charlotte Kalla Stays Mostly Injury-Free

In 2016, the Olympic gold medal winner suffered from a rapid heart rate which caused her to have poor performance in the World Cup event in Ruka, Finland. After testing, Kalla found out the cause of the issue is due to atrial fibrillation, also known as irregular heartbeat. After finding the source of the issue, Charlotte Kalla was able to treat it and was soon cleared for the rest of the World Cup season.
