2018 Olympic Winter Games

It would not be wrong to call Natalie Geisenberger the Golden Geisenberger. She is currently a German star who defends women's luge title. Even after her recent outstanding performance at the 2018 Olympic Winter Games, Geisenberger refuses to call herself the best women’s luge athlete ever. Germany has yet another Olympic gold medalist after Geisenberger prevailed in the women’s luge final. It was also her second consecutive title and one that added yet another page to her burgeoning resume of accomplishments. “The most of what you reach in sport is an Olympic gold medal,” Geisenberger said in an interview. No luger has ever won more gold medals than her. She is now at a tie with her fellow Germans - Felix Loch and Georg Hackl. Felix Loch is a German luger and Olympic champion. He has been competing since 1995 and has been on the German national team since 2006. He has won fourteen medals at the FIL World Luge Championships with twelve golds and two silvers. Other teammates were Tobias Wendl and Tobias Arlt. Tobias Wendl is a German luger who has competed since 1993, acting as a front. Tobias Arlt is a German luger who has competed since 1991, acting as a backdriver. “For me, it was the most big goal or dream — I would say dream — that I wanted to reach,” Geisenberger said. The all-time World Cup wins leader, Geisenberger just turned 30 last week, and remained the top slider on the top team in the world. It’s the sixth straight Olympics that Germany has gotten at least two of the three women’s singles medals in luge, and Geisenberger now became the third woman to win consecutive golds — joining countrywomen Steffi Martin Walter and Sylke Otto. “That’s the moment I live for,” Geisenberger said awaiting for the German anthem. “That’s the moment I fight for. That’s the moment I give everything I have for.”
