The 36-year-old Lauren Cohan was born in Cherry Hill, New Jersey and her father is American while her mother is English. She also has some Irish, Norwegian and Scottish ancestry. Lauren Cohan took the surname after her mother remarried and then she converted to Judaism and even had a Bat Mitzvah ceremony. The actress has four young siblings from her biological father and a step-sister. The actress graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in drama and English literature. But the actress has several options. We already know that Cohan will not be on “The Walking Dead” season nine because she will be in another pilot in ABC titled “Whiskey Cavalier.” The hour-long pilot will star Scott Foley as an FBI agent known as Will Chase with the nickname, Whiskey Cavalier. Cohen will play the opposite as a hot-shot CIA operative known as Frankie with the code name, Fiery Tribune. The actress is assigned to kill a target that he was tasked to protect and the two end up running what can be described as an interagency team where they show the professional power and emotions are also involved. If the show goes to series, Whiskey and Fiery will likely end up in a romantic relationship. The ABC option is there to provide Cohan with an exit strategy from ‘The Walking Dead” or help her a better payday at one of the hit TV shows. THR reported that the actress’s showdown with AMC was due to money and even though Chan is not seeking salary parity with male leads like Norman Reedus and Andrew Lincoln, her camp and AMC have been discussing her increasing her pay for months, but there was no any agreement met. So if you are a fan of Maggie in “The Walking Dead,” gird your feelings because she might be off to join another TV show.

The Walking Dead boss hopes Lauren Cohan will return

It seems that the talks are still going on. The showrunner, Scott M. Gimple is optimistic that the talks between Lauren Cohan and AMC will work out and she will be back to the show. The actress has starred in the show since season two and they have been in discussion about increasing Cohan’s salary for months now. The actress then went ahead to sign a contract with ABC and didn’t look sign the other one with “The Walking Dead.” The production of season eight was completed long ago and Gimple doesn’t even want to entertain the thought that the finale would create a satisfying conclusion for Maggie in case Cohan doesn’t return to the TV series in any given capacity. Gimple will be stepping down as the showrunner at the end of season eight before he takes on a new role as the chief content officer of the TV show. He said that things like Cohan’s payment issue happen and that there are actors who star in gigantic movies which take the whole world by storm, but they are then left figuring out how to make the people do their thing and stick around. Sources reveal that Cohan plays one of the most demanding roles and after the pilot season, she was actually eyeing on an increment, but the deal that AMC gave her was not fair enough.

Cohan had to lose her British accent on The Walking Dead

Like mentioned above, Lauren Cohan divides her time between London and L.A. Although she lives in England, she spent most of her childhood in New Jersey and Cohan even joked that she was like a Jersey girl who felt so English. She also spoke about her memories growing up in Cherry Hill. The actress said that she had a white Huffy with neon-pink handle grips. Cohan would go swimming, read babysitters club books and go to Kmart in the summer because she didn’t have anything else to do. She and her friend, Margaret used to build crazy rafts and cruise down the creek which was perhaps sewage. But she liked to keep her American accent when she was in LA because she wanted to maintain her role as Maggie, but it wasn’t so hard.

Before her big break, she was a model and waitress

Lauren Cohan might be very famous at the moment and maybe for the rest of her life, but the success didn’t come immediately and easily for her. It was a hell of a ride to stardom. After Cohan graduated from college, she returned to the USA and settled in Los Angeles to pursue her dream or taking professional acting. In the beginning before landing a major role, she split her time to work as a waitress and a model to pay her bills. She was bussing tables by night after shooting lingerie ads for Virgin Clothing.

People describe her as the girl with the Asian guy

Glenn and Maggie often referred as “Gleggie” are “The Walking Dead’s” only mainstay couple in the zombie apocalypse. Even though the couple got engaged in season 3, there aren’t any wedding plans. The “Mile 22”, “The Walking Dead”, “The Boy”, “Death Race 2”, “The Vampire Diaries”, and “Supernatural” actress told E! that it would be great if there was a wedding but everyone was on the run and survival was more important than a wedding ceremony. Cohan also told Rolling Stone that they are always together going for coffee drinks and get recognized as a couple even though they are an onscreen couple.

Her net worth

According to the site, Celebrity Net Worth, Lauren Cohan has a net worth of about $4 million. She has made her net worth from appearances in “Mile 22”, “The Walking Dead”, “The Boy”, “Death Race 2”, “The Vampire Diaries”, and “Supernatural.” Cohan is also a model.

Lauren Cohan might be on the verge of living “The Walking Dead” for good, but who knows what future holds for her. Her next role in “Whiskey Cavalier” might be bigger than Maggie.
