Peter Martins is a Danish Ballet dancer and choreographer. He was born in 1946. Martins was a principal dancer with the Royal Danish Ballet and with the New York City Ballet (NYCB). At NYCB, he joined George Balanchine, John Taras and Jerome Robbins in 1981. He took retirement from ballet in 1983 after achieving the rank of Danseur Noble. He also became Co-Ballet Master-In-Chief with Robbins. From 1990 to 2018, Martins was the only one responsible for artistic leadership of City Ballet. He took a leave of absence in December, 2017 and retired in January, 2018 after being accused of sexual and physical assualt. It was alleged that he used his powers to obtain sexual favor from two dozen dancers right from 1983 within the company. That was indeed a very sad end to a legendary career in ballet.

Darci Kistler is a noted American ballerina. She is often said to be the last muse for the choreographer, George Balanchine. Darci Kistler was born in Riverside, California. She was the fifth child of a medical doctor and his wife. Her brothers were quite good at amateur wrestling, water-skiing, basketball, football and even horseback riding. When she first received her tutu at the age of four, she never removed it. She also began ballet training the same year. Kistler got into ballet because she felt that in spite of being athletic she could never keep up with her brothers and ballet turned out to be her cornerstone which she had mastered. She got motivated after seeing a ballet performance of Margot Fonteyn and Rudolf Nureyev. She studied the art at Mary Lynn's Ballet Arts and later in Los Angeles. Kistler got selected to study at the New York City Ballet's School of American Ballet. She met George Balanchine there. She joined the NYCB -corps de ballet in 1980 and shot to fame with her performances which were always featured in a Times Article. Kistler was promoted to a soloist in 1981 and then the principal dancer in 1982. She was the youngest to get that title at 17 years. She wrote her own autobiography 'Ballerina: My Story'. Kistler joined the SAB's permanent faculty in 1994. Kistler married Peter Martins in 1991. In July 1992, in Martins was arrested and even held for five hours. Kistler had called and phoned the police for help. She filed an affidavit accusing him of assaulting her, slapping her and even cutting and bruising her arms and legs. He was charged with third-degree assault. Kistler later dropped the charges, saying that she preferred to resolve the matter without the court's intervention. She wore heavy makeup to conceal her bruises two days later when she performed in a ballet. From their close friends and acquaintances it was revealed that this was not the first time Martins had hit Kistler. They have a daughter, Talicia Tove Martins, born in 1996. Talicia Martins was arrested in June 2017 from her parents' home in Manhattan for possession of heroin, crack cocaine and hypodermic needle. Again in August 2017, she was arrested for felony theft and burglary In August 2017, Talicia Martins was arrested for burglary and felony theft of three businesses in Camden, Maine.
The Ballerina gave a farewell at the age of 46 after a 30-year long career in 2010.
