The South Beach Diet was created by Dr. Arthur Agatston, who wanted to help people lose weight without feeling hungry. Saturated fat has been known to increase the risk for developing heart disease. This diet is all about low-carbs, low-far, and high-protein. The first phase is very low in fat and carbs. As you progress to the other phases, the fat and carbs become a little less restricted. The later phases also allow limited unprocessed foods as long as you are consuming a high amount of protein. Studies have shown that basal diets with protein actually burn even more calories than carbohydrates or fats do when your body digests food. Protein also makes you feel less hungry due to the hormones that are released so that you will feel fuller for a longer amount of time. Numerous studies have also shown that basal diets of eating a high amount of protein with little fat has a bigger impact on losing weight and helping to keep any muscle.
4. The 5:2 Diet
This diet is often referred to as the fast diet, because those who stick to this diet do a form of fasting. Five days a week you eat what you normally would, and for the other two days a week you only eat 500-600 calories for each of those days. This creates a deficiency in calories that will result in losing weight fast. Even though you eat a good bit less on the two days that you mostly fast on, you will not eat more on the regular days even though that may seem logical. This is because peptides are released, which is a hormone that makes you not want to eat and to feel full faster and longer. While this diet doesn't necessarily mean that you will lose more weight on it than other diets, combining this with a regular diet will definitely help lose more weight and fat in your abdomen. Losing weight often means that you will lose some of your muscle mass, but this fasting diet has shown results that you lose less muscle on it than when on other diets where calories are restricted more than just a few days a week.
5. The Dukan Diet Works Fast
Pierre Dukan, a French doctor, created the Dukan Diet back in the 70's. There are four stages to this diet that really work for helping women lose weight fast. The first phase is the Attack Phase. This phase involves eating almost nothing else but lean proteins. Eating a high protein diet has been shown to boost your metabolic rate and decreases appetite, as it suppresses hunger. This means that you will lose weight quickly as you won't be eating as much. In the other phases, some other foods are slowly added back in. In the Stabilization Phase, everything is allowed again, but it is recommended to eat mostly high protein and lots of vegetables still. This last phase also requires eating only lean proteins at least one day a week. A study in Poland showed that the average weight loss of 33 pounds of the women who stuck to this basal diet for 8 to 19 weeks. These women ate around 1,000 calories worth of protein each day while on this basal diet. Since this is also one of the diets that involves little to no fat, sticking to it can reduce your risk for heart disease.

One study of older women who were overweight showed that those on the Paleo basal diet lost a lot more weight than the group who was on a regular diet. Another study over five weeks with very over-weight women lost 10 pounds on this basal diet and reduced the bad fat on their liver by almost 50%. The zone diet, created by Dr. Barry Sears, is a great diet that reduces inflammation that you may have from certain foods that you eat. It will reduce your risk for many diseases and greatly increase your health. You will feel much happier and healthier when following this diet. The diet consists of balancing each meal with a third of protein, that should be the size of your palm, and not any thicker, plus two-thirds fruits and vegetables, and just a tiny bit of fat. Being in the zone means that you are eating very healthy and your body shows this by not showing any inflammation. Inflammation in your body is what causes many diseases, tiredness, weight gain, and aging faster. Three markers are used to check and see if you are in the Zone. The TG/HDL ratio shows how high your insulin resistance is in your liver. The ideal value should be less than one, and your doctor can check for this by doing regular blood work. This ratio is affected directly by your diet. The AA/EPA ratio how much inflammation is in your body from your diet. The ideal value should be between 1.5-3, and this is directly affected by your diet and any fish oil that you may be taking. You can get a cellular inflammation test kit to test for this level. The third marker is the hbA1c, which shows how much of the advanced glycoslated endproducts are tied to your blood glucose. The ideal value should be 5%, and your doctor can measure your blood sugar from a period of three months. This value is affected by your diet and polyphenols. It has been shown that 99% of Americans do not fall in the Zone, meaning that most everyone can do a lot to improve their health, just by eating better. When you fall in the zone, you are able to lose weight very fast. You will stay healthier much longer than anyone else and live longer. You will be able to think better and faster, and perform anything better than you ever could before.
