The three-day music festival is organized by Carlson and the production company Golden Voice at the Los Angeles Exposition Park, Los Angeles, CA. Sean Carlson construction company ‘Blue Nile Capital Inc’ was recently sued for a staggering $90K by a Winnipeg based family. As per the reports, Rana Abdulla of Winnipeg invested her family’s life savings i.e. $90K to built her own cafe and offering traditional Arabic food recipes that reflect her family's heritage. Abdulla said that she contacted the Sean Carlson company Blue Nile Capital Inc after seeing the contact information from Kijiji. The company’s official website stated the features offered and because of which, she contacted and hired him for her construction purposes. However, after initial work, the construction began slowing down and stopped eventually. As the contract ended in March 2017, the Winnipeg family was shocked after reading about the difference in payment and lack of accounting for a staggering $81,948. The family didn’t receive any clarification.

Los Angeles Times reported the incident wherein Paul Tollett, the head of Golden Voice, sent an email to all the talent booking agents stating its separation from its partnership with the FYF Festival. Carlson founded the FYF Festival where a lot of artists have performed since the year it was established. The recent article published by Spin and Billboard reveals the crucial details about the allegations and how accurate they are. Just a few days after Golden Voice withdrew its partnership with Sean Carlson's FYF Festival, allegations of sexual misconduct have been made against the founder. The details from the reports state that all the four charges of sexual misconduct that have surfaced happened between the years 2010 and 2015. Spin concluded the allegations with tips from co-workers and people who knew Carlson. They verified the integrity of the rumors. According to them, one man reportedly confirmed that at a house party organized by the founder, he was groping girls and was aggressively touching their butts. Three out of four of the victims have testified. They told Spin that these incidents of sexual misconduct are accurate. Since the revelations were pretty graphic, Spin also gave a cautionary reminder to the readers before reading the statements provided by the three women.

The first woman, Natasha Ryan, talked about the incident. According to Ryan, she went to a VIP after-party and then got into a hot tub with other women. She was wearing a bra and underwear. This is where Carlson began his advances. Based on her story, Carlson began to take her bra off. And then, when she was waiting for her turn outside the bathroom, Carlson groped her and attempted to have sex with her. The second lady reported another incident when Carlson made sexual advances. According to her story, he barged into the bathroom where he tried to have sex with her. Carlson reportedly exposed his penis outside his pants during the incident. Similarly, in another incident of sexual misconduct, Carlson made inappropriate advances towards the victim. Carlson asked the woman and her friend to join him in his Uber ride home where the music promoter made advances to both women.
