Rose Marie: Personal Life and Death

In her life, Rose Marie married Bobby Guy, a trumpeter in 1946. Rose Marie and Bobby Guy had one daughter, Georgiana. The couple remained married until Bobby Guy's death in 1964. Rose Marie did not remarry after the passing of Bobby Guy and was legally single until her death. Rose Marie passed away at the age of 94 in Van Nuys, California on December 28, 2017.

Rose Marie is best remembered as Sally Rogers on The Dick Van Dyke Show. She was one of the few remaining main cast members from that show (and the last main female cast member after the death of #MaryTylerMoore earlier this year. Later she went on to a regular role on The Doris Day Show. She was a child star in the late '20s. She was in a short that appeared alongside #TheJazzSinger. She was probably the last living person to have attended the premiere of that film. She even met #AlJolson, but doesn't describe that as one of her most pleasant memories. She was a true legend of television. Only a few months ago some of my FB friends went and saw her, Dick Van Dyke, and Peter Marshall at a premiere of Roseā€™s documentary after which they had a Q&A. I wrote to her while she was alive and got a beautiful response back. She was one of my personal favorites. 2017 has claimed two cast members of The Dick Van Dyke Show already. Hang on Dick, Carl, and Larry, 2018 is just around the corner. #TheDorisDayShow #TheDickVanDykeShow #MySisterEileen #TheBobCummingsShow #BabyRoseMarie #SallyRogers #RoseMarie
