She is the daughter of Philip Richard George Dushku, who is an administrator and teacher in the Boston Public School System, and Judith Ann Dushku, a political science professor. Eliza is of Albanian descent on her father’s side, as he is from the city of Korçë, and is of English and Danish descent on her mother's side. Eliza Dushku has three brothers. Her family is religious and she was raised as a Mormon, and active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. For her education, she attended Beaver Country Day School in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, and graduated from Watertown High School. Eliza Dushku is very proud of her Albanian heritage. She visited her father's family in Albania in 2006 after receiving an invitation from Albanian Prime Minister Sali Berisha.
