Holly Hunter was born in 1958 in Conyers, Georgia. She is a famous film actress and an executive producer. Hunter has done noteworthy work in the film, 'The Piano' from where she also shot to fame. Her role as Ada McGrath was critically lauded in the film 'The Piano' in 1993. Holly Hunter is the daughter of Opal Marguerite. Her father, Edwin Hunter was a farmer and her mother was a housewife. Hunter attained a degree in drama from the Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. She started her acting debut with theater roles. Hunter later moved to New York City and made her official on-screen debut in 1981. She appeared in the horror movie, 'The Burning' the same year. In 1982, Hunter moved to Los Angeles and then started acting in Television movies. Holly Hunter married Janusz Kaminski in 1995 but later divorced him in 2001. Holly Hunter made her film debut with the horror movie, 'The Burning' in 1981. In 1982, she appeared in many TV movies before she was cast in a supporting role in 1984's 'Swing Shift'. The same year, Hunter collaborated with the writing-directing-producing team of brothers Ethan Coen and Joel Coen in the movie, 'Blood Simple'. She also made an uncredited appearance as a voice on an answering-machine recording. She continued to do small films and television work until 1987 when she got a starring role in 'Raising Arizona'. 'Raising Arizona' was a mystery drama directed by the Coen brothers. She did other films including, 'Miss Firecracker', 'Always' and the TV docudrama 'Roe v.Wade'. Holly Hunter again appeared in another movie of Dreyfuss, 'Once Around'.
