The same year, Hunter collaborated with the writing-directing-producing team of brothers Ethan Coen and Joel Coen in the movie, 'Blood Simple'. She also made an uncredited appearance as a voice on an answering-machine recording. She continued to do small films and television work until 1987 when she got a starring role in 'Raising Arizona'.
