Kim Victoria Cattrall was born in 1956. She is an English-Canadian actress best known for her role as Samantha Jones in the romantic comedy series, 'Sex and the City' (1998-2004). Cattrall received five Emmy Award nominations and four Golden Globe Award nominations. She won the 2002 Golden Globe for Best supporting actress. She also appeared in the films, 'Sex and the City' in 2008 and 'Sex and the City 2' in 2010. For her role as Samantha Jones in 'Sex and the City' and 'Sex and the City 2', she almost refused to play the part of a 40 something woman who is still considered as a sex symbol. She refused the role thrice before finally accepting it. According to her, the role almost ruined her dating life as people started believing that she was a sex expert. Cattrall made her movie debut in the 1975 film, 'Rosebud'. She later appeared in the films, Porky's (1982), Police Academy (1984), Big Trouble in Little China (1986), Mannequin (1987), Masquerade (1988), Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (1991), and Ice Princess (2005). Cattrall also appeared in the 1986 Wild Honey's original Broadway production. On stage, she has played the part in various shows including, Antony and Cleopatra at the Liverpool Playhouse (2010), Private Lives on Broadway (2011), and Sweet Bird of Youth at London's Old Vic (2013). From 2014 to 2016, she starred in the HBO Canada series 'Sensitive Skin'. Cattrall has married thrice in her life. She does not have any children. She was married to Larry Davis in 1977, but the marriage was annulled in 1979. Her second marriage was with Andre J. Lyson in 1982. She lived with him in Frankfurt and even learnt to speak German fluently. But the marriage ended in a divorce in 1989. She married for the third time in 1998 to audio designer and jazz bassist, Mark Levinson. The two had co-written the 2002 book, 'Satisfaction: The Art of the Female Orgasm'. In an interview in 2007, Kim Cattrall revealed that in December 1988, she had been booked on a Pan Am Flight 103 which had crashed in Lockerbie, Scotland owing to a terrorist bomb that was detonated during the flight. She was told that in 1961 he emigrated to Australia, where he became a postmaster, retiring in 1972 and dying in Sydney in 1974.
