The IOC banned the Russians from attending South Korea’s Olympic games last year over what the cited as “systematic manipulation” of the anti-doping testing board at Sochi games in 2014. The IOC, however, was kind enough to open doors to Russian athletes who had zero doping history to feature in this year’s Olympics that just concluded. The IOC ax fell on 47 Russian athletes and they appealed the ban at the Court of Arbitration for Sport, but the court rejected their appeals.
