Maiken Caspersen Falla was born on August 13, 1990, in Fet, Akershus, Norway, which is in the Southeastern part of Norway. She was first given a pair of skis at the age of four, along with her twin brother, Marius Caspersen Falla. Their parents made sure they participated in as many sports at an early age as possible. This included cross-country skiing, soccer, cycling, snowboarding, handball, and biathlon. When Falla was 15, she was enrolled at a local high school for aspiring winter athletes called Hovden Ski High School, where she excelled her skiing career. At 18, Falla was already competing in World Cup events. Hovden Ski High School is located in the largest ski resort in Southern Norway. Her brother, Marius Caspersen Falla, also became a cross-country skier representing Norway. Maiken currently represents the club Gjerdrum IL and currently lives in Lillehammer. The cross-country skier is active on Instagram, where she has almost 40k followers.

The Skier Made Her Cross-Country Debut in 2008

Maiken Caspersen Falla began competing in World Cup races in 2008, at the age of 18. Since then, she has 15 individual wins, 44 individual podiums, 2 discipline titles and not yet an overall title, though she placed 6th in both 2015 and 2016. Falla's first World Cup race in 2008 took place in Kuusamo in November. It took only one month on the World Cup circuit to earn her first podium. She placed third at the December 2008 Dusseldorf event. In 2009, she competed in the FIS Junior Nordic World Ski Championships in Praz de Lyz, where she won gold in the relay and bronze in the sprint. Falla then competed in her first Winter Olympics, placing 20th at Sprint Classic in Vancouver. She continued making strides in the rankings throughout the following World Cup seasons following the 2010 Winter Olympics. She earned her next World Cup win during the 2012-2013 season, winning at the Canmore leg. Her biggest win at the came then came at the 2013 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships, where she won the bronze medal in sprint classic. In the 2013-2014 World Cup season, Falla only managed one podium, not a great season compared to previous. However, she competed in the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi where she won gold in Sprint Freestyle. Her 2014-2015 World Cup season included four podiums and one individual win. However, Falla would soon have her best season to date. In the 2015-2016 season, she won eight of the eleven sprint races she competed in, and only missed one podium the entire season. This equaled the record of most sprint victories in a World Cup, a title held by Petra Majdic. The 2016-2017 season earned her only two individual wins. However, she managed to earn gold at the 2017 FIS World Ski Championships in individual sprint.

Her Net Worth Includes 3 Olympic Medals

Maiken Caspersen Falla has been skilled enough to attend 3 Winter Olympics at such a young age. She competed in the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, where she placed 20th in Sprint Classic and did not place in Sprint Freestyle. She also attended the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, where she won the gold medal in Sprint Freestyle and did not place in Sprint Classic. Finally, she attended the recent 2018 Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang, where she won the silver medal in Sprint Classic and the bronze medal in Team Sprint Freestyle for Norway. At the 2014 Winter Olympics, Falla dominated the competition in Sprint Freestyle, winning every round and setting the fastest time in qualifying. Her performance at the 2018 Olympic Winter Games, earning a bronze medal and a silver medal, helped secure Norway's record-setting 39 medals won in a Winter Olympics. Her Instagram account shows many photographs and happy words during her time at the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang. Maiken Caspersen Falla's financial net worth is currently unknown.

Her Partner is a Former Football Player

Maiken Caspersen Falla's partner is Kristian Hågensen Aune, a former professional soccer player, also from Norway. He was born on January 25, 1985. He grew up in Levanger, Norway and began playing soccer at a young age. He eventually joined Levanger Football Club, where he spent 7 seasons playing for the main team. He spent a couple seasons as the team captain and his final year, 2012, was spent competing in 13 matches, earning 1 yellow card. In 2013, he played for Verdal before leaving for Lillehammer in 2014, where he plays for the Men's Senior A team. He is also coaching in his spare time. He has also recently begun attending Lillehammer University, where he is studying to become a child welfare teacher. While Kristian Hågensen Aune misses his hometown of Levanger, he confirmed the couple is happy in Lillehammer and will be staying there. Given the fact that they are 3 minutes away from the ski slopes, this seems to be a good reason to stay.
