Selina Jörg was born on 24th January 1988. She is a German snowboarder with an impressive height of 1.74 m. She participated in the parallel giant slalom at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics and finished in fourth position. Her fourth place at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics proved to be the major breakthrough in her career. Joerg subsequently won a bronze medal at the 2013 Winter Universiade in giant slalom. She took up the sport as a child and at age 14 she moved from her hometown to Berchtesgaden, Germany, for better training conditions. Her training includes CrossFit, and during summer she also does cycling and tennis. This year at the 2018 Olympic Winter Games, Joerg won a silver medal at parallel Giant slalom.

Selina Joerg was interviewed after the 2018 Olympic Winter Games. She was asked about her impression of the Olympic Games to which she replied, "We were initially in a ski resort outside of Pyeongchang, to train. Since we only start our preparations in the second week, this was a sensible measure to keep the tension high. Since Monday we are in the Olympic Village, have completed our first training sessions and are now ready for the competition on Saturday." On being asked about the condition of the slope she said that the conditions are quite different in Europe. She said that the snow is more aggressive and one needs to adjust their own driving style. She felt that she has coped well and she has a good feeling about her performance.
