Nana Takagi was born in 1992. She is a Japanese speed skater who is a member of the Nidec Sankyo speed skating team. Takagi has claimed two silver medals at the World Junior Speed Skating Championships, in two team pursuit events. She made her World Cup debut in the November of 2013. Takagi achieved has one World Cup podium finish until September 2014, as part of the Japanese team pursuit squad at Heerenveen in 2013–14. She finished 5th in a 5000 m race at Astana in 2013–14 which was her best individual achievement until 2014. Her best overall finish in the World Cup is 14th, in the 2013–14 mass start. Takagi competed at the 2014 Winter Olympics for Japan with the Nidec Sankyo team. In the 1500 metres she placed 32nd. In 2015 Nana Takagi claimed the title of a world champion, when in the 2015 World Single Distance Championships she won a gold medal in the team pursuit. In 2018 Olympic Winter Games, Takagi was part of the Japanese team that won the Olympics women team pursuit gold medal. Takagi also won a second gold medal at the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in the Women's mass start event. She loves listening to music and watching movies. She also loves dancing. The athlete can speak Japanese language only. She trained under coach Toshiaki Imamura from her club and Johan De Wit who is on a national level. Her younger sister Miho has played for Japan in speed skating. She and her teammates Ayaka Kikuchi and Miho Takagi [her sister] created history and became the first female Japanese skaters to win gold in team pursuit at the world single distances championships when they claimed victory at the 2015 edition in Heerenveen, Netherlands.
