Who is Jeff Goldblum?

Jeffrey Lynn Goldblum, born in 1952 is a very popular American actor and somebody who has been on screen since decades. He is best known for appearing in some of the highest-grossing films of his era such as Jurassic Park in 1993 and Independence Day in 1996. Goldblum has also appeared in these films' sequels such as 'The Lost World: Jurassic Park' in 1997, 'Independence Day: Resurgence' in 2016. The famed actor will next be seen in 'Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom' in 2018. Goldblum has done some very noteworthy work in numerous films including 'Invasion of the Body Snatchers' in 1978, 'The Big Chill' in 1983, and 'Into the Night' in 1985. His major blockbuster hit movie, 'The Fly' released in 1986 got him greater recognition and fame and also earned him a Saturn Award for Best Actor. Goldblum the actor with a handsome rugged face and a very masculine physique has charmed the audiences in romcoms as wells as thriller/action films. Born and raised in West Homestead, Pennsylvania, Goldblum was raised in a Jewish family. His mother, Shirley was a radio broadcaster and his father, Harold L. Goldblum, was a medical doctor. Goldblum's parents supported him in show business. Goldblum moved to New York City at the age of 17 to become an actor. He made his Broadway debut in the Tony Award-winning musical 'Two Gentlemen of Verona'. The talented actor is also an accomplished jazz pianist and kept that as his second profession in life if in case the first one did not work. Goldblum was married to Patricia Gaul from 1980 to 1986. The two had starred together in the movie, 'Silverado' in 1985. From 1987 to 1990, he was married to Geena Davis, his co-star in three films: Transylvania 6-5000 (1985), The Fly (1986), and Earth Girls Are Easy (1988). This marriage too did not last long. He was single for quite some time after that and then in mid-2014, he got engaged to Canadian Olympic gymnast Emilie Livingston and the couple married on November 8, 2014. On January 9, 2015, he announced that they were expecting their first child, a son. Their son Charlie Ocean was born on July 4, 2015. His wife Emilie was pregnant with their second child in January, 2017. Their second child, a boy named River Joe, was born April 7, 2017.

Career in movies

Goldblum debuted on the big screen in the film 'Death Wish'. After appearing in a few films after that, Goldblum got leading role in films such as The Fly (1986), Jurassic Park (1993), Earth Girls Are Easy, The Tall Guy, Vibes (1988) and Into the Night (1985). Goldblum's has done credible supporting roles in films like, Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978), The Big Chill (1983), and Independence Day (1996), as well as the Wes Anderson films The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou (2004) and The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014) and the cult films, The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the Eighth Dimension (1984) and Igby Goes Down (2002). Goldblum has also done some voice acting. He has rendered his voice for U.S. Apple commercials such as advertisements for the iMac and iBook. He has also done voice over for some U.S. Toyota commercials and also as Procter & Gamble's facial cream line. Goldblum bagged the role of Adam in 'Adam Resurrected' which was a film adaptation of the Yoram Kaniuk novel. In 2014, Goldblum's jazz band performed a weekly show at the Carlyle Hotel. Goldblum replaced actor Chris Noth as a senior detective on the Tv Series, 'Law & Order: Criminal Intent'. In the series, Goldblum plays the part of Detective Zack Nichols. In 2014, Goldblum appeared in an episode of 'Last Week Tonight' parodying his role in Law & Order. In 2016, he reprised his role of David Levinson in Independence Day: Resurgence, which was the sequel to Roland Emmerich's 1996 alien invasion/disaster film 'Independence Day'. In May 2016, Goldblum was cast as The Grandmaster in the film, 'Thor: Ragnarok'. He will be reprising his role as Dr. Ian Malcolm in 'Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom' stated to release in 2018. He will also be seen in the film, 'Hotel Artemis' in July this year. Hotel Artemis is an upcoming thriller written and directed by Drew Pearce. He was featured in a Currys Christmas advert campaign in November 2015. Goldblum does the commercials for Apartments.com also.
