Alexandra Shipp Loves Her Life

Aside from a bit part in 2009's live action/computer animated movie 'Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel,' Alexandra Shipp got her Hollywood start in television. Her first big televsion role was on Nickelodeon's teen mystery show 'House of Anubis.' Roles in television movies 'Drumline: A New Beat' and 'Aaliyah: The Princess of R & B' soon followed. Now, she's rocking a boho vibe in real life and Instagram, showcasing her versatility by starring in both Oscar nominated films and comic books.

Shipp promotes fun fan renderings of herself, this time as Storm in 'X-Men: Apocalypse.' Shipp joined the film franchise in 2016 as one of the most recognizable names and favorite characters in the comic book series.

Alexandra Shipp promotes her movie 'Love, Simon,' a 2018 young adult romance/comedy. The movie is based on a book and focuses on Simon, a closeted gay teenager. Shipp plays Abby, one of Simon's best friends.

A casual Shipp at a screening and Q&A for 2017's comedy horror film 'Tragedy Girls.' Shipp played McKayla, a teenage cheerleader with a twisted passion for murder.

Shipp on the set of 2016's 'X-Men:Apocalypse', where she takes over the role of Storm, a mutant and female superhero who can control the weather.

In 'House of Anubis,' Shipp starred as KT Rush for one season on the mystery television series in 2013. A mere two years later, and a long way from Nickelodeon's teen demographic, Shipp portrayed Ice Cube's wife Kimberly Woodward in the film 'Straight Outta Compton' a film about the rise of gangsta rap in the late 80's/early 90's. The movie garnered rave reviews, and it was nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay.
