Celebrity Mom Cardi B speaks up about Motherhood

Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar,  more famously known by her professional name, Cardi B is an American rapper, singer, songwriter and television personality who was introduced to the world over through her previous work as a stripper.

She is of mixed descent, hailing from a Dominican father and a Trinidadian mother and was mainly raised in Washington Heights at her grandmother's place. Cardi has a sister, Hennessey Carolina and the pair are goals for a sisterhood. 

Cardi, who has never shied away from speaking her mind, was born on October 11, 1992, in the Bronx. She attracted social media attention when she discussed her career as a stripper and some of her videos went viral making her an internet sensation and Cardi has not gone back since. In 2015, she joined VH1's reality television series, Love and Hip hop (New York) where she showcased her life and struggles of an up and coming artist in the cutthroat world of hip hop while also addressing relationship problems with an incarcerated lover. 

Cardi B worked odd jobs including a supermarket and then later turned to stripping to try and earn an extra dollar so she could provide a better life for her and her family. It was through this grind that Cardi started dipping her toes in the rap game and produced her first projects, mixtapes 'Gathen later gangster Bitch Music and then later released her second album in 2017. On June 16, 2017, her debut single "Bodak Yellow" was released and the song stayed in the charts for several long months and topped Billboard's top 100 for three weeks, putting her name down in history alongside Lauren Hill for the only female to have a number one solo single since 1998.

Since then, Cardi's shining star has been rising, paving way for the talented songwriter and rapper and has earned herself some very powerful collaborations that have likewise topped charts and become anthems in their own right like "Finesse" with Bruno Mars, "Girls like you" with Maroon 5 and "Taki Taki" with Dj SNake, Ozuna and America's sweetheart, Selena Gomez.

Cardi B fell in love with fellow rapper, Offset, who is a member of the ever cool rap trio, Migos and the two became hip-hop's love story couple. They got engaged and in April of 2018 after much speculation, the mega superstar revealed that she had a bun in the oven. She did this like every superstar down in history, actually taking a page off Beyonce's book and revealed her baby bump during a Saturday Night live post-album performance and damn did she look good wearing white and showing off those curves.

Cardi and then husband, Offset officially welcomed their little bundle of joy, baby Kulture on 10 July 2018. The new mom, Cardi could not stop gushing about her little princess on social media and it is very clear that there's nothing she loves more than being a mom and just loving her baby.

Just three months after giving birth to Kulture, Cardi B took to Instagram to flaunt a flat tummy and much slimmer body as she promoted a weight loss drink. She attributed her fast weight loss and bounce-back to hard work. She also took to the social media site to ask for post-baby advise.

We know Cardi for her openness and candid nature and she went on to social media to talk about her post-baby body which was apparently not going the way she wanted. She admitted that she was depressed about how much weight she was losing and was not liking the skinny look at all. Looks like someone had gotten comfortable in their pregnancy and after-birth skin.

Despite this challenge, Cardi is loving every second about being a mom to baby Kulture and is having a hard time leaving her when she has to go rake in those dollars. She even canceled going on tour with Bruno Mars claiming that she had underestimated the whole mommy thing and was not ready to part with her daughter for long periods of time.

Cardi loves being in the limelight and it looks good on her but she has been pretty adamant about her daughter getting that exposure. She barely ever posts any pics of the little girl with the exception of one post shortly after sharing a video announcing he split from husband, Offset.

On parenting, she's enjoying every second she can with her daughter and is mommy bear extraordinaire, and doesn't even trust people with her unless she's there. 

She is a dedicated mom and loves her daughter so much and would do anything for her. That much is clear. At a New York Fashion week, Cardi allegedly attacked fellow rapper Nicki Minaj for ridiculing her parenting skills and said that that's where she draws the line on being silent.

Theirs is a Hip hop love story that saw a new rising star, Cardi B pair up with cool bad boy Offset from Migos. They were not shy to showcase their love for each other in public and we were obsessed with the pair.

Offset proposed to Cardi, they got married in what is rumored to be a blood-red affair and had their first child, Kulture. 

These two lovebirds had a lot of love for each other but when you're so constantly in the limelight and everyone wanting in in your personal business, things are sure to go south. Cardi B took to Instagram to post a video claiming that she and her husband were separating. She said that they had been trying to work on things in a while now but it just wasn't working out anymore and that they had just fallen out of love. The rapper mommy did say that they were such good friends and business partners and that the separation was nobody's fault. Such a nice and mature way to handle a situation that could have otherwise turned ugly, right?

No one knows what's really going on in their lives right now though Card did do a post saying that she misses her baby and Offset. We only hope and pray that the couple is working through their issues right now coz they looked too damn good together and I think they should give it another shot. What do you think?

Whatever the case, the two are co-parenting their baby just fine and we wish them the best of luck in their parenting.

We've already talked baby Kulture s much but here are some facts for you. Her real name is Kulture Kiari Cephus and she is protected liked a little princess should.

She is the first child of Cardi B and the fourth child of Offest, who has three other kids from previous relationships, two boys and another daughter. Another fun fact is that she is also the niece to Migos group members Quavo and Takeoff, who are related to her daddy, Offset. Talk about famous relations. Well, no matter the case, one thing we do know is that this baby is so loved and we only wish that she grows up to be a great child.

Cardi B has many things on her plate and some might think it a challenge to deal with it all. Her additional role as a mom is bringing out another side of her that most of us are getting to know and love, especially moms because of how outspoken and spot on she is about the whole being a mommy thing. More importantly, she encourages us all to reach for our dreams no matter how far out they seem and to never stop for anyone or anything. So be you a mother, businesswoman, or whatever other roles you play in your life, there's more to you and you can achieve it and never let society bring you down or define your own limits. Go big, make those money moves and prove these haters out here wrong!
