That’s exactly what Chandler Riggs, the actor who plays the role of Carl Grimes in Walking Dead does. From a childhood zombie ensemble member to now a hot sensation amongst most teens in the popular series The Walking Dead, Chandler Riggs aka Carl Grimes has lived the dream. I say this because Chandler Riggs is a huge video game fanatic. 

Just like the other teen boys, video games are Chandler’s thing. In, fact, he’s so into gaming that when he was younger, he and his friends had a YouTube channel called The Orange Trampoline where they’d share videos of themselves playing video games. As the son of a central protagonist (Rick), Carl Grimes has experienced an unbelievable amount of character development over the progress of the series and in real life as well. I mean who didn’t like the cutie when he was young and who isn’t crushing over him as a teenager. 

Chandler Riggs was cast as Carl Grimes in 2010 at the young age of 10. This was his biggest role to date, on the AMC TV series The Walking Dead. The series basically follows Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), who is the father of Chandler’s character Carl, who along with his group of friends, family and other strangers fight to survive in a ferocious apocalyptic world filled with zombies and a few surviving humans. Some of these humans in the series are even more dangerous than the zombies. Since the series proved to be a success in terms of ratings, therefore, it became the number 1 show amongst adults aged 18 to 49.

However, Chandler’s character was later removed from The Walking Dead series when, in a very drastic exit from the comic book (which is the series’ source material), his character was unexpectedly killed off in the middle of the eighth season of the series, which caused significant controversy among the fans. The final episode of the series with Carl’s character in it aired on the 10th of February, 2018. 

Chandler’s character Carl has definitely transformed from a relatively regular quiet child to a warrior who is able to overcome unbeatable odds. As we all know him by the eye patch, we know that he even survived a bullet through the eye in the series. All of this came with a price obviously, and Carl has experienced a great deal of agony, damage, and eventually death. 

The teen sensation Chandler Riggs was born on the 27th of June (Which means his Zodiac is Cancer) 1999 in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. Apart from the Walking Dead series (2010), the actor is also known for his great performances in Get Low (2009), and in Mercy (2014). A little less known fact is that the actor also appeared in another movie (horror flick, Jesus H. Zombie, 2006) as a child actor, he was part of a zombie ensemble and it was one of Chandler’s first acting credits. 

Chandler’s height is 5' 7½" (1.71 m) which I must say is quite an ideal height. And of, course, how can we forget to mention his amusing nickname. His nickname is ChairHandler, well that’s a witty one, and I wonder who came up with that.  

As we all know by now that Chandler Riggs started acting at a very young age. But what’s more fascinating to know is that the actor, at the young age of seven, had also worked with Atlanta’s Fox Theater production of "The Wizard of Oz". Later when Riggs turned nine he played Tom in the film "Get Low", and then Ryan in the television film, "The Wronged Man". However, it was AMC’s horror flick drama series, "The Walking Dead", which ultimately turned his career around. 

Riggs and the rest of the main cast members of The Walking Dead series have won the 2012 Satellite Award for the Best Cast in a TV Series. For Chandler Riggs’ performance in the series as Carl, Chandler was nominated for the Saturn Award for the category of Best Performance by a Younger Actor in a TV Series. Chandler was nominated for this category five consecutive times and out of those five times Riggs has won the award three times in 2014, 2016, and 2018, now that’s something to flaunt. In the year 2014, Chandler also won a Young Artist Award in the category for Best Performance in a TV Series; Leading Young Actor after previously being nominated for the same award in 2012 as well as 2013.

It definitely pays to be that talented but considering his acting experience so far, it is amazing what Chandler has achieved. Throughout Chandler’s TV career, his salary has been constantly high. Although in comparison to his co-stars it may seem like it isn’t that much but consistency in his earnings shows a lot about what the boy can reach. 

The Walking Dead star is said to be worth  2 million dollars. Celebrity Net Worth , as well as ComicBook.com, has estimated that the actor took home 30,000 dollars an episode. His fortune as compared to one of his co-stars is extremely high, Danai Gurrira (who plays Michonne), has an estimated net worth of $500,000, as of late 2016.
