Top 40 Morning Text Messages That Keep The Sizzle In Your Long Distance Relationship

The Importance of Morning Messages

Long distance relationships can be extremely challenging. To be honest, I’ve never had one myself, but I somehow continually fall for guys who live oceans away, and with the advent of social media, it’s possible to stay in touch with them. After the wanderlusty romance wears off, there are very few things that end up separating each experience from being simply a 2-day romantic European fling and the potential to turn into something more.

One of these things is the beauty of text messages, Instagram messages, Snapchats, et. al social media contact, especially in the morning. Waking up to a message from a man across the ocean is one of the sweetest surprises a girl could ask for. So I can only imagine how in any long distance relationship, in which you both want to put in the effort to make it work, how important the good morning message would be to keep the flame alive.

new series? 🙃 lately I've been loving experimenting with character illustration or comics or whatever you wanna call it. So I'm not a fan of complaining but thought this would be fun. I know we all have our social media pet peeves and I wanted to draw some of mine. I'm calling them #DumbThingsThatAnnoyMe because they really are the most petty and childish things to be bothered by. so guys, don't take offense if these are things that you do. it's just my stupid irritations. #itsnotyouitsme 😂 All that aside, what dumb things annoy you guys on social media? Tell me in the comments. or better yet, join the fun and illustrate it with me and add the hashtag to your post so I can see :) . . . #illustration #moleskine #sketchbook #comic #comicart #petpeeves #instagramstories #snapchat #socialmedia #food #art #workspace #studioscenes #copic #copicart #copicmarkers #beejaedee

The Start of the Distance

Whether your relationship is new, or becoming long distance is a new development, sending romantic texts to your boyfriend is a must. However, when you’re just beginning, you want to make sure to gauge his responses. Maybe when you’re together in person, you have the easiest relationship, the funniest banter, and the highest levels of trust. But (and don’t be afraid when I say this), distance can create a whole different dynamic. People often text differently than they interact, so you want to use this first phase of your long distance relationship to figure out your different texting styles. Have you heard of love languages?

I have a good friend who’s been in a five-year relationship, and he and his boyfriend used to have arguments about their communication via text. My friend, Henry, showed love using physical touch. His boyfriend, Phil, showed love using words of affirmation. Because of their different love languages, Phil would be upset when Henry didn’t text him back as often as Phil texted him. And Henry would be upset when he wouldn’t be able to spend time with Phil, to see him and show his love. By understanding that they show and receive love in different ways, they were able to overcome this and properly communicate what they needed from each other. Understanding your partner’s love language, as well as your own, will help in figuring out their texting style and desire for communication via text.

Morning Messages for “Words of Affirmation”

This is one of the easiest love languages to communicate with via morning text messages. If your partner feels love by receiving words of affirmation, these twelve messages will be a sure way to keep the romantic energy alive in your relationship. Remember, though, that a person whose love language is “words of affirmation” appreciates a personal message; no cheesy cliches and pre-written quotes. Write from your heart! Those who love with words of affirmation also love good surprises, so the morning message is the perfect way to keep the love strong in your relationship.

1. You are so funny and thinking of all our jokes makes me laugh randomly throughout the day. Looking forward to another day of laughter :) Reminding your boyfriend of your inside jokes and the way you feel when you're together is the perfect way to affirm the strength of your relationship, and why you love him. Guys love to be funny, and if he knows he can make you laugh, even when he's not with you, you will both feel stronger in your relationship, despite the distance between you.

2. Have an amazing day - you deserve it! Simply telling him that he deserves to have a good day is a great way to minimize the distance and make him feel worthy. We often forget how much we are worth, so by sharing with him that you still think he is deserving of a great day even when you're not there is a sweet way to make him feel wonderful.

3. Thinking of your smile makes me so happy. Hoping your smile shines to everyone around you today because it’s the cutest. Reminding him of his smile is a sweet way to remind him to stay happy, even though there is distance between you. Your boyfriend will appreciate that you love his smile, and also just saying this to him will make him smile.

4. Good morning boo! Thinking of you first thing in the morning is the best way to wake up. This is affirming in so many ways. It's a sweet surprise for him to get a message from you, and in the morning, if you like thinking of him, just imagine how he is probably also thinking of you! Getting this little morning surprise will make his day start off a little brighter.

5. This song *insert song here* made me think of you, so I made it my alarm. Now I get to wake up to the thought of you :) Associating people with music is something many of us do. I know I have a playlist in Spotify called "Geographically Unrequited" for the guy I fell for who lives far away. Making one of those songs your wake-up alarm is a sweet way to continue thinking of him, and sharing this association with a beautiful thing (music) will show him how much you love and appreciate him.

6. Remember when we *insert any fun thing you’ve done together*? I hope you have almost as much fun today :p Missing you! It's okay to tease him a little bit too. Of course you miss him and want him to have a spectacular day, but reminding him of a happy and joyous memory will start his day off with a pleasant state of mind.

7. Distance doesn’t mean anything with a boyfriend as awesome/funny/handsome/(whatever word you want) as you! What do you love about him? Tell him! Reminding him of what makes you want to be with him even though you're not together is a wonderful way to keep the sizzle going.

8. I miss you soooooo much but I know you’re doing amazing things, so keep being amazing today - can’t wait to hear about your day. Sharing that you miss them but you want them to be happy is a wonderful way to keep your relationship strong by supporting your boyfriend. Giving him the support to get through the day and have a great time will remind him how strong your relationship is.

9. Read this article last night that I thought you’d enjoy. Can’t wait to talk about it with you and hear your thoughts! Okay, so this is not the most romantic morning text message. However, it is one way to connect on a deep intellectual level, and show him how much you value his opinion and conversation. One time a guy sent me an article to read and we talked about it, and it gave us a new shared language - reading, watching, and listening to the same things is a great way to keep the sizzle in your long distance relationship, and to share experiences even when you are far apart.

10. I have genuine feelings for you and I love thinking that you’re having a good time. You being happy makes my days better. Okay, so disclaimer: the guy I had a European fling with told me this, and it was all I needed to feel confident and worthy of our potential. We didn't spend enough time with each other to make a commitment of any kind, but it reminds me that the time we spent together was genuine, so regardless of the future, knowing there is someone who felt that way about me makes me feel good and worthy. Plus knowing he wants me to be happy makes me want to be happy too! Share this with your boyfriend, and he will for sure appreciate that his happiness is your happiness.

11. Few things in this world make me feel as good as you do. Hoping you wake up with a smile today and go into the day as strongly as you always do. It's a sweet message to say, 'you make me feel great, I love you, and I want you to be happy... keep being you!' (That's also another message you could send.)

12. You are everything I want in a person and more. Good morning you beautiful human, you. Sending a surprise morning message to your boyfriend is a surefire way to put a smile on his face. Add on telling him how he already is what you love, and he doesn't have to change or be anything more will give him a perfect way to wake up.

Messages for the “Physical Touch” Boyfriend

A person whose love language is “physical touch” can be a bit more challenging to send a perfect morning message to - because you still can’t physically touch them! You’ll know if your boyfriend is one of these people if you tend to do a lot of PDA (public displays of affection) or if he often sweetly holds you, grazes you, or needs some sort of physical contact. Physical touch can make you feel much closer to a person, so being in a long distance relationship can be very challenging for the “physical touch” love language speakers. These seven romantic messages will appeal to his sensibilities without overtly telling him too much. Oftentimes, someone who prioritizes “physical touch” can be more put off by messages of feelings and how much you like him.

1. Ugh, I wish I could wake up with your arms around me everyday. 2. Good morning boooo, I just want to kiss your face right now. 3. The weather looks rainy and cold today. Can you just come over and snuggle me all day long? 4. I miss your hands all over my body. You make me feel sooooo good, so I guess I’ll just have to settle to thinking about you and your strong hands. 5. Hey, good morning. Can’t wait until the next time I can make you feel really good ;) When you wake up, I’ll tell you all about what I’ll do for you. 6. Hey you. I had a dream about you last night ;) Can’t wait to tell you all about it. 7. Ugh, I miss your body next to mine. Next time I see you, we are spooning all night long.

Sexting and Pictures Minimize the Distance

One of the hardest parts of long-distance dating someone whose love language is physical touch is not being able to touch. So sending pictures via Snapchat (only what you’re comfortable with of course!), selfies, and other pics throughout the day are one of the best ways to remind your SO how much you want to be with them and be touching them. When using words, sexting is actually really effective in showing your love to someone, especially someone who prioritizes physical touch. However, for a good morning message, you don’t want to be too graphic or vulgar, because it’s the first thing in the morning! Give him a little taste of sex and what you would do if you were physically together, but once he responds, ready for more, that’s when you can get more detailed. The thought of the possibility of being with you will be enough to get him out of bed.

Morning Messages Can Be Gifts

For some people, their love language is “receiving gifts”. For these folks, pictures, videos, and little links or gifs are perfect. Anything that shows how much you’re thinking of your boyfriend and how much you you want to give him to make him happy is perfect. This is also a good opportunity to show him how you remember the important things going on in his life. Wishing him luck in important events is also a nice surprise that will make him feel like you love him. These seven messages are a perfect way to close the distance with little morning surprises.

1. Good luck on your big meeting today babe! You’re gonna kick ass. 2. *send pic* Hey, here’s a little pic to get you through the day :) thinking of you gets me through the day too! 3. Good morning! Sending you love for your day. Hope you get it through the phone :p 4. Here’s a song/pic/quote/gif I thought you’d appreciate. Wanted to send it to you to give you a sweet start to your morning :) 5. Hey you, here’s a little good morning surprise to kickstart your day. Distance is irrelevant when I can still send you messages about how much I love you. 6. I miss you so much, but when we see each other next, I have a little surprise for you. 7. You are the best, and you make me so happy. Good morning sunshine, best of luck on your day, you’re gonna kill it.

Quality Time Despite the Distance

Some people give and receive love with “quality time”. This is going to be a difficult priority to show through your morning messages because you can’t really spend quality time with your significant other when there is distance between you. However, you can show how you want to spend quality time with your partner by sharing what you want to do with them, as well as finding time in your day to have long conversations with them. That’s one of the sweetest ways you can be sure to make your boyfriend happy even though there is distance between you.

I can’t wait to hear all about your day. 6.Sending you love throughout my day! Waking up was tough without you, but then I remember how happy you are and it keeps me going. Now I’m going to *insert where you’re going*! 7. Good morning and have an amazing day :) Can’t wait to hear updates on that big meeting with your boss!

Acts of Service to Brighten Up Their Morning

The final love language is called “Acts of Service”, meaning that your partner appreciates the little acts you can do to show you love them. This means they appreciate things like doing chores and helping them out with little tasks that may be difficult. This can of course be difficult when there is distance between you, but these romantic messages will be sure to brighten up your partner’s morning.
