15 Fun Things To Do With Your Boyfriend This Summer

Summer is just around the corner, so it’s time to start thinking about all the fun stuff you’ll be doing with your boyfriend throughout this season of warm lazy days that seem to never end. In these three months you have at least 12 weekends, plus vacations, so that’s plenty of time to fill up. Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered with our guaranteed fun list of things to do this summer.

Spontaneous Things To Do With Your Boyfriend This Summer Weekend

It’s summertime: warm days, cloudless skies and loads of sunlight make you go outside and just enjoy being out. It’s time for barbecues and picnics, beach, pool and water sports, but also time to go adventuring and exploring new things. Grab your boyfriend, maybe throw in a couple of friends, and just follow your instincts. Being spontaneous is never synonym with being unprepared, though, so make sure you’ve got all the necessities covered beforehand. In order to start planning ahead here’s a list of fun things to do on the weekend.

1. Go Hiking/Geocaching

There’s no better way to welcome summer than hiking up a trail. Check online the trails available in the area, taking into consideration the length and the level of difficulty. Find the perfect trail for both of you and go for it. Remember to pack plenty of water, light snacks, and sunscreen.

Alternatively, you can go geocaching, a sort of scavenger hunt using a GPS, compass, map of the area and specific coordinates. The objective is to find hidden caches, usually in QRCode form, but sometimes you can also find hidden treasures (a book, toy, etc). Take a look at geocaching.com and off you go!

2. Lazy River Tubing

If you happen to have a small river or creek near you, or within comfortable driving distance, this is a must-do. Whiling away a summer afternoon on a comfy flotation device, down a lazy river is one of the best possible things to do with a boyfriend in summer, or even early fall if you live in a warmer climate. Stock up on sunscreen, some choice beverages, maybe a light snack, grab your bathing suits and flotation devices and just sit back and relax. Perfect!

3. Go Camping in the Wilderness

Unplug for a couple of days and enjoy all that Mother Nature has to offer by going camping. Eschew organized and crowded camping parks and head out to the wilderness for a fun and exciting adventure with your boyfriend. Stick to National Parks or be sure to ask permission from landowners beforehand to avoid any inconvenience, pick up a tent and supplies and just go.

4. Gone Fishing

As long as you are out there in the wilderness, why don’t you give fly fishing a try? The peace and tranquillity of river scenery, together with the challenge of catching lunch might prove both invigorating and fun. Consider renting your equipment beforehand, and happy fishing.

5. Go to an Amusement Park

Remember back when you were young when summer seemed to last forever and an outing for the amusement park was the highlight of your holidays? Take a trip down memory lane and get reacquainted with the roller coaster, the shooting galleries, and the cotton candy. Grab your boyfriend and spend an afternoon or an evening screaming your heart out and tying your stomach into knots, but all the while having a riot.

6. Take to the Waters

Summer screams for water activities, so take a walk on the wild side and experiment with new water activities. Do some surfing, sea kayaking, stand-up paddling, water-skiing, kite-surfing, whatever, as long as it is a novelty for both of you and have a blast learning something new. Or, if you are feeling less adventurous, simply enjoy some quieter water activities, like paddleboat, or rafting, that also provide fun-filled time but less adrenaline.
