The Essentials For Bachelorette Party Planning

New to Bachelorette Party Planning?

Being a maid of honor is a big deal. Your best friend is getting married and it’s your job to help her in every way possible. One of your duties is planning a bachelorette party. This can be a challenge; no matter if it’s your first time planning or you’ve done it in the past. Every bride is different so and every bachelorette party is different.

First of all, you should talk to your friend, ask her what her ideas are for the party. Does she want to go out just one night or maybe somewhere abroad? This way you will get a clear picture of the direction this planning is going. Also, you should talk to others just to get a clear view of what every single one of you can afford.

You don’t want to organize something expensive that only a few of you can pay. Bachelorette party is all about having fun and enjoying that time together and creating beautiful memories.
The next thing would be picking up the theme. This can be a pretty fun thing to explore. Maybe your bride likes a certain movie or time period, so you can all dress up as characters or according to the period of history she likes. If you’re not sure about this, you can also get your inspiration from The House of Bachelorette Party Theme.

Bachelorette Party Themes

Of course, the bride is not going to plan this party, but it's much better to ask her for the guest list than to create one by yourself. After seeing how many people are coming, the next thing to do is make reservations. This also depends on where you are going. So, if you made a deal to go out of town for a couple of days, be sure that you make a reservation as soon as possible! Even a month earlier (it would be very bad if you find a perfect spot that has everything you want but doesn’t have enough rooms for everyone, wouldn’t it?)

After you made those reservations, now it’s time to send invitations. There are places where you can purchase them or print them. When you’ve done all that, it’s time to buy decorations and treats for the party. You don’t have to buy all that by yourself, actually, you can ask other bridesmaids to help you with that. So all of you can go shopping for fun(and naughty) accessories for the bride and prepare for the party.

Essentials: Checklist

So, what exactly is a checklist when it comes to parties? If you’re new to bachelorette party planning, don't worry. Basically, a checklist helps you with the organizing of the party 3-6 months prior. Here we are going to show how to create your own list of duties, based on what are your plans for the party.

3-6 months before the actual party, the best thing is to talk to the bride, see what she wants, who is invited, where the party takes place, etc. This is a good time to choose the date and the theme for the bachelorette party. Usually, it takes place a week or two before the wedding. You don’t have to plan this all by yourself; actually, you can ask other bridesmaids for little help.

Now it’s before the party. This is a good time to make reservations, buy tickets (if you’re traveling out of town), book a Venue and send invitations to everyone that is coming so you can collect the money. A month before you’ll have to make all the final reservation and be sure to ask for Bachelorette Parties discount and send invitations.

Two weeks before is a good time for you to get decorations for a theme party, to plan your party favor bags and order items like tiara and veil and a bride's gift. You have a week to go. Make a playlist for the party and send reminders to the bride and all the guests.
The day before the party. Check if you have everything. Fill your party bags and wrap the bride’s gift with a funny note that goes along with it.

The day has come. Arrive 30 minutes before just to check if everything is in place. After that, relax. Get a drink and wait for the bride. Your job is done. Now it’s time to have fun. And, of course, make sure that the Bride is happy!

Spreadsheet

As a Maid of Honour, you will have a lot on your plate. Creating a spreadsheet is a simple way of keeping track of every single thing. You can write down in your notebook or make an Excel document (personally, I would recommend Excel ). Here you can track everyone’s task, how much money you’ll spend on a restaurant, or a trip, decorations for the theme party, food… Basically, the spreadsheet is designed to help you be even more organized.

Below is an example of how creating a spreadsheet in Excel can help you see the budget’s overall for the party.

After you made plans about the bachelorette party (where, when, the theme of it) now it’s time to make bachelorette party invitations. Actually, you don’t have to spend a lot of money on them, because you can make your own and then print them. In this way, you can create specific invitations that will show other guests what kind of party you’re hosting. These invitations can have all party details, printed from your home computer. After that, you can mail them or have them hand delivered to the guests.

Essentials: Services to Engage

Although you may be Maid Of Honor, you are not a superhero and you do need a little help. Because it all depends on location and party theme there are services that can help you organize this day (or those days). This can be anything from transportation, photography or catering. Below I listed a couple of sites that I find helpful.

Essentials: Websites for Party Supplies

For a fabulous bachelorette party, you will need supplies that can add that special flavor. Remember to ask for a discount (many sites and shops have a discount for all sorts of parties, including bachelorette). Again, on sites (I’ll list them below) you will find decorations, favors, shirts, everything you would need to organize an unforgettable party.

Summary

Being a maid of honor comes with joy that your friend chooses you to organize her last days as a single person, but it can be pretty challengeable. Why? Because you need to start planning as soon as your friend agrees about little things such as party theme. Then, your real task starts. Even six months before the actual party. You are going to be in charge of every single thing – budget, reservations, gifts, supplies for the party, transportation. Of course, you can ask other bridesmaids for help.

It is important not to panic or be overwhelmed. Remember: it’s all about having fun and make sure the future bride is happy. So, good luck!
