Creative Home Date Ideas For Married Couples

1. Build a treehouse together

Do you like DIY(Do it yourself) projects? Is your man good with his hands? And no, I don’t mean what he does under the sheets or when the lights are turned off. I mean, does your man like mechanical stuff? Building a treehouse together is a great way to bond with your man. It is an ideal shared living space that borders on a whimsical fantasyland that you can escape to when life gets too stressful. You can also invite your friends over for tea, or have fun roleplays in your treehouse. The possibilities are endless. I always loved the idea of having a quaint yellow attic with bookshelves and beanbags, and this definitely fulfills one of my fantasies. If you are not a crafty person, your husband can build the treehouse and you can volunteer to be the interior designer.

2. Bonding through video games

Are you a video game addict? If your husband is always glued on the computer screen as well, I suggest playing a video game with elements of teamwork and strategy. Like star crossed lovers in Romeo and Juliet, escape from hordes of hungry zombies in Left4Dead as you keep you and your lover alive.
Divide and conquer and build new factions in the Third Age Total War. Not a fan of active combat? You will probably enjoy the Sea of Thieves which is a strategic puzzle game. Build your retro love loft in Habbo hotel as you admire the game’s nostalgic furniture and quaint setting.

3. Couple cardgames

Find out what makes him tick, drives him wild, as well as his boldest fantasies and wildest passions through "After Dinner Amusements: Truth or Dare for Couples: 50 Questions and Challenges", touted as a "Naughty Adult Card Game for couples", perfect for a "sexy date night". You will thank us later, and please spare us the details!

If you are an introspective person, or an armchair psychologist, perhaps you would enjoy the “intimacy Deck by BestSelf - 150 Engaging Conversation Starters for Couples to Strengthen Their Relationship, Romance, Trust, Openness, and Vulnerability”. That’s more than a mouthful, and it probably does what it says on the box. It is proclaimed to be the “Best Couple Card Game for Romantic Gift” but takes it with a pinch of salt.

4. Picnic under the stars

What is more romantic than lying under the stars, and watching the world go by? Set up a little picnic in your backyard, and when it gets dark, count the stars in the infinitesimal universe. See if you can spot Orion and other constellations and share your most intimate secrets with your boyfriend. It will be literally a night to remember.

5.Build a pillow fort

Is your man secretly childlike? You can relive your childhood moments, with pillow fort building. Either snuggle together under the sheets for some intimate moments or start a pillow fort building competition. Get creative! Build a reinforced fort made out of pillows and blankets and erect multiple “castle walls” for extra protection, and conquer/ invade into your man’s territory/fortress while he tries to destroy your castle.  It will be just like playing fortress 3 during the good old days.

6.Paint together

Get your creative juices flowing and release your inner Van Gogh. Painting causes a surge in dopamine and serotonin, chemicals that are responsible for creativity and happiness, respectively. Perhaps one of you will discover a talent you never knew you had!

7.Start a garden together

Pesticides free, and GMO-free, there is nothing better than fresh harvest and produce, directly from the comfort of your own home. Reap the fruits of your labor as you plant fruits and vegetables together with your husband in your backyard garden. Better yet, you no longer need to worry about your children ingesting any harmful chemicals or residue from vegetables/produce.

8. Massage date and indoor spa

After a tiring day of work, there is nothing better than a massage session to knead away all the tension and fatigue out of your husband’s body. Rather than going to a spa, why not save money by having your own indoor massage and spa facilities? Get a bath bomb and some fragrant soaps from Bath and Bodyworks or the Body Shop, and soak in the bathtub for as long as you wish.  If you are environmentally conscious, opt for Lush body products.
When the children are asleep, dim the lights, lather essential oil on each other and let the stress slowly melt away. You and your husband will feel reinvigorated and refreshed afterward without having to spend exorbitant amounts of money on a commercial spa.
